DataCosmos Release Notes - January 15, 2026
Today's DataCosmos release focuses on changes made for Product Naming and Catalog Filtering, Processing Level selections for Tasking Requests and addresses many usability issues across the DataCosmos Platform.
New Features
Product Naming
The Platform has changed how assets are named and searched for within the Catalog. Previously, all Images were identified with the Satellites Name used to create them.
Now, all Images are named as their Data Product type: Multispectral / Hyperspectral / SWIR / etc.
Going forward, these Data Products categories will collate imagery from a variety of Satellites, providing the User a simpler means of selecting the image types they require, without having to know which Satellite provides which type of image.
This change to the Catalog is quick fundamental to the operation of the Platform. To aid the usability of this change, Catalog filtering has also changed to be "by Data Product"
Additional Enhancements
Prevent images being re-added to projects after user removal
In certain circumstances, it was not possible to remove Images from Projects if they were added from Tasking Requests. Changes have been made to prevent automatic readding.
Stores loaded catalog results to reduce load and improve search time
To aid usability, if the User closes the Catalog tab or does something else in OpenApp then comes back, the previous results are still loaded.
Adds hammer L1C to Oil Spill Application
For the Oil Spill Detection application, Hammer L1C catalog subscriptions are now supported
Orders subscriptions by date descending order
All Active Application Subscriptions will now appear at the top of the list in Date Order. Any non-active subscriptions will be shown below Active ones.
Fixes inconsistent acquisition date in overview
Acquisition Dates are now consistent between Tasking Requests and the Tasking Overview pages
Display Resource Names rather that IDs
In Organisation Pages, the Platform now displays the Textual names for Users, Organisations, Programmes and Roles instead of their IDs
Fixes dark theme persistence
The Platform now adheres to the Theme selection from the Profile Menu on all pages
Adds missing satellite and sensors descriptions
Tooltips for Satellites and Sensors have been added to the Tasking Request creation dialogs
Allows region name until final state
Tasking Request Region Names are now editable until the Tasking Request reaches the Cancelled or Delivered state
Band Algebra - Hides the legend of a hidden layer even if it's set to always on mode
If a Legend is displayed on screen, it is hidden when the associated Image Layer is hidden.
Blocks the creation of tasking requests for inactive contracts
The Platform now blocks the creation of tasking requests for inactive contracts, but still allows Existing Tasking Requests to be updated. This prevents issues with fulfilment and out-of-contract Tasking Request creation.
